The innovation team for Chemical Process Intensification (CPI) in Tianjin University is the“131”innovative talent team of Tianjin, as well as the major part of the innovative team of the Ministry of Education, China.The team includes 6 professors, 1 associate professor and 7 technicians, with one IChemE fellow, one Cheung Kong Scholar Professor of DOE, and two New Century Excellent Talents in University.
Focusing on the major demands on efficient, clean and intelligent production in the fields of chemical, food, light and pharmaceutical industries, etc., the CPI team has strengthened the radical innovations and the fundamental researches for engineering applications. We have been exploring the molecular controllable transformation and construction mechanism, creating novel catalysts, energy-storage and membrane materials. We have been disclosing the multiphased flow and transfer modulating regulations involving fluid flow, concentration and temperature distributions inside the apparatus, developing the scale-up and optimization models for high shear mixers, fluidized bed reactors and electrocatalytic reactors, etc., to generate the process intensified apparatus. We have been establishing the multi-objective optimization and decoupling control method for chemical processes, to implement green intelligent manufacturing of the industrial production processes. All the efforts aim at upgrading the levels of industrial technologies and promoting transcended developments of industries.
