On April 26, 2017, Prof. Adam J Kowalski and his colleagues, members of the Unilever, visited our group of the Innovation Team for Chemical Process Intensification (CPI). Dr. Adam J Kowalski is a technical expert in Unilever and mainly focuses on the high shear mixers, while he is also a Professor of University of Manchester.

During the visit, Prof. Adam Kowalski and his colleagues visited our laboratory under the guidance of Prof. Jinli Zhang and Prof. Wei Li. Firstly, in the “Tianjin University-FLUKO Mixing Technology Joint Research Laboratory”, Prof. Adam J Kowalski and his colleagues took a closer look at different high shear mixers and asked about the performance and application of these devices. Prof. Adam J Kowalski said it is very good after visiting our platform of testing mixing performance. Subsequently, Prof. Adam Kowalski and his colleagues also visited our other laboratories, which are used for membrane preparation, battery materials preparation and molecular simulation. He praised the work of our group.

Subsequently, Unilever's Prof. Adam Kowalski and his colleagues, some members of CPI group, attend an academic conference. Prof. Wei Li made a detailed overview of the CPI group to the unilever’s experts, such as the introduction of our group, major researches, future work, etc. Prof. Adam J Kowalski introduced Unilever’s related work, such as sustainable product-process design, the process analytics, future work, etc. Prof. Jinli Zhang discussed with the Prof. Adam J Kowalski on chemical process intensification, the cleaner production and the application of high shear mixer. The meeting enhanced cooperation and exchanges between CPI group and Unilever; it also plays an important role in promoting the in-depth study of the mixing techniques for both sides.
